Whatson – Hit Blocker & Inspector («the Extension») is developed by Sherlook.
─── WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES ───────────────────────────────
The Extension intercepts outgoing analytics and marketing network
requests (Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, Google Ads, Bing Ads,
LinkedIn Insight Tag, TikTok Pixel, Floodlight) on pages you visit
and displays their parameters in the browser side panel.
It also allows you to block those requests from firing.
─── DATA COLLECTION ────────────────────────────────────────
The Extension does NOT collect, store or transmit any personal data
to external servers.
All intercepted request data is stored exclusively in
chrome.storage.local on your own device and is never sent anywhere.
The Extension has no backend, no analytics, no telemetry and no
remote logging of any kind.
─── PERMISSIONS USED ───────────────────────────────────────
- storage – to save your blocking preferences locally.
- webRequest – to read outgoing tracking request parameters.
- declarativeNetRequest – to block tracking requests on demand.
- scripting – to inject a listener that reads dataLayer events.
- tabs / activeTab / sidePanel – to display the side panel and
keep it in sync with the active tab. - host_permissions () – tracking scripts can fire on
any website, so the extension must be able to run on all URLs.
─── THIRD PARTIES ──────────────────────────────────────────
The Extension does not share any data with third parties.
